Hi all,

My mountain bike is fine on 1 and 2 out of the 3, but 3 no matter what it's in grinds like the chain is hitting that metal thing. I've just had my wheel trued and aksed him also to look at that he auid he adjusted something but nothing changed it's still there.

I then took it to another shop for an opinion just now and he said you should'nt use the 3rd gearing?.

Im a newb so please dont be too technical with me!

Thankyou.

It sounds like you are only changing gears at the front (usually on the left hand bar)? If so, that's the problem and not one that can be fixed by adjusting the bike.

Put the front ring on number 2 and use the gears at the back until you get used to them.

Rule of thumb. When in largest front cog use smallest three rear cogs. Middle front cog use all of rear gears. Smallest front - use largest three back cogs.
