New to the forum, new to road cycling too!

Have spend the last 2 weeks reading the many nuggets of wisdom on here, the many technical posts that people get so passionate over and of course the wind up merchants that make the forum as much as a sport as the one we are all here to talk about!

Anyways, pick up my first road bike on Saturday - Trek 1.2 triple 08 version. The shop are upgrading the front mech to Tiagra from 2200 for free and the bike is costing me less than £400! Think I'm getting a bit of a deal there as it all comes with original owners warranties, set up at store and free 6 week check and 1st service!

So my question is this - what's the weather going to be like this weekend? ;)

Thanks for the replies. I'm so excited about picking up the bike today I was up at 5.30! Now it just means I've got longer to wait until I get it hehe!

BBC say Herts is going to be 18mph and dull, so looks like I should have some fun - but I don't think I'll get those nice shiny glints of the bike as it moves through the Herts country side!

Have been reading the debates about double and triples this morning. My new bike has a triple (even though there aren't too many hills where I live!) and that is mainly due to the availability of a decent bike and getting the important things within my budget (and still having 20 quid change to show my wife I can stick to budgets!).

I'm going to spend the £20 on something really important - something to keep my wife happy in the knowledge that I am very likely to be out on Sundays!

What would you spend the £20 on?

A rabbit? Then you might be able to stay out all day.

Now you could be wise...

Ride out to a pub/cafe and meet your wife for lunch! Treat her with the £20 and then drive/ride back....everyones a winner xx(

I'm a newbie myself and picked up a trek 1.2 triple 09 mid december, no complaints about it so far and loving the riding - have fun!!
