Grand Prix 4000S Tire Blowouts!!!

I just purchased two tires which are named in the title... I've been seeing videos on YouTube of them blowing out at the sides... has anyone else experienced this? I'm scared that if I hit high speed and this blows.. I'm done for!

Not me, I've done over 40mph on an old set and I'm still here.
Regular checking is required for all tyres.

Just ensure you check sidewalls for cuts regular.

It was Schwalbe Ultremos that had a bad batch a few years back. The sidewalls would bulge and then go.

Took me 2 inner tubes to realize the side wall on my GatorSkin HardShell had worn thru, wasn't cut, just failed at the junction with the rim. Only 4K miles on it as well. I blame the wet weather.

Positive outcome is that I'm now back on Pro 4's, and feel a lot more secure on the road.

A tyre is only going to fail catastrophically if it has been damaged IMHO. Check your tyres regularly and you will prevent this. I have a 1000mile old set of GP4000S and they are in perfect condition.

Ride them and enjoy.

I've used these for ages and have had no problems - in fact they are my favourite tyres and seem to be great quality.
If you hit a sharp stone (or simialr) at high speed then they might blow out, just like any other road tyre would!

Pro4s ride nice but they are far less durable than Contis!

I currently have Gator skin tires on my bike and they are quite fast (in my opinion) , so I'm looking forward to trying these new tires.
