id like a good gps sat navy thing for cycling. i currently use my smart phone but would like something larger screen and robust

is there something on the market that is a gps but can also link to endomondo?

Get a Garmin and use Garmin Connect.

Yeah it's just as good. Garmins can be pricey though. If mine isn't an issue, get a Garmins. If it it, check out Holux - I have the GPSport 260 and it's a great little bit of kit, and can produce GPX tracks for you to upload to Endo if that's what you want.

lot more expensive and does it have all the maps? ive noticed links to maps, would i have to pay out more before i can use it?

just done some research and they say the polar software is very good, anyone use polar?

Endomondo supports many of the Garmin devices, but needs a "link" called Garmin Communicator to allow the transfer

You can also import GPX files from the computer, but can have issues as there are different GPX formats. If for instance your system does not include latitude/longtitude format, time and date stamps or exceeds a certain file size then there will be issues.

Cheaper than Gamin are the Bryton series if you want mapping.

Otherwise look at the mapless options as they are considerably cheaper and functional if you are happy following a line and waypoint instructions

I've got the Garmin Edge 705 and love it! I use Garmin Connect to upload all my ride data to. I also upload the data to Endomondo as several of my friends use it. Data can be uploaded direct from the Garmin to Endomondo.

I started using Endomondo on my mobile but kept losing GPS signal. I would go out for a 12 mile cycle then pull my phone out to find that the data had not been recorded! I also found that it drained my phone battery very quickly!

I am glad I upgraded to the Garmin Edge 705 and like the look at the Edge 800 but don't think my wife would be too pleased with me splashing out on yet another expensive GPS device. Lol
