GPS which one

Hi all
I have been looking at buying a Gps but which one.I will want to imput routes for on or off road and it must be waterproof.
I am a bit out of sorts as to which one to choose so any advice greatly appreciated.

Garmin 800 or the older 605 or 705 for the full routing.
