I use mine all the time in my pocket, recorded about 900 cycles & runs now.

I probably wouldnt mount it to the handlebars unless i was confident it was very secure. Also need something waterproof (a sandwich bag works) incase you get caught out in rain.

Yes but I'd like to use the maps function to see where I am/going etc.

Ahh i see, my Desire HD drains so much power with the screen and gps on that the battery still ticks down slowly when its plugged into a car charger, so ive not even tried it on the bike.

Id be inclined look on Amazon, theres probably reviews on there

I bought that one off ebay and its far to big so I didn't bother mounting it. Also the wildfire s display is hopeless when its bright or sunny, so like Mr Jamie mine rides in my pocket.

I have a HTC Hero and bought a bike mount from amazon. Claimed it was waterproof and has held up this summer! Since upgrading, as new phone is much bigger (and a larger glass screen). I've stuck a PAYG SIM in the Hero, taken all bar the GPS/tracking map apps off and just use it on the bike.

The phone clip in arrangement doesn't look secure to me. May be ok if you are just riding along, but if you hit rough ground ??? Also it doesn't solve the problem of not being able to see the display in bright light as this is my main reason for not mounting the phone.

But there is a very good application for android called Navigation which comes on the HTC Wildfire and you can put in your destination and via GPS it plans your route there, and if you deviate from the route, it redirects you. Free too. I'm going to take a punt on one of those handlebar mounts and then get back to you guys with a review/some feedback.
