Thanks yellowtim.
Would i download strava to the home pc then plug the phone to the pc?
Would the ride data transfer from phone to pc
Sorry for so many simple questions but i have never used it before.I have downloaded gps logger onto the phone now.
I downloaded the Blackberry interface software to a PC, then connected the phone to the PC and saved the GPS datafile to the PC, but I wouldn't have bothered doing that if I'd had a removeable memory card in the Blackberry.
You can upload the GPS data file to Strava manually just by logging onto Strava in a normal web browser, and no additional software is required for this part of the operation. I logged on using a PC, but possibly the GPS data file could be uploaded directly from your device using the Blackberry web browser, in which case you won't need a PC or the Blackberry interface software. Be aware that if you have Blackberry encryption turned on, Strava won't be able to read your GPS datafile until you copy and paste the file to an unencrypted file system.
I found that unlocking the device during or after a ride caused me to inadvertently exit the GPS Logger II app, if this happens just select 'Confirm Exit of GPSLogger II' in the General Settings Options. I have my minimum speed for logging set to 3mph, but I haven't really tested this to see if it's appropriate. I use 1 second logging for Strava segments, and 5 second logging when I'm not bothered about Strava.
To be honest, although I've worked out how to do it, I haven't bothered with Strava much. I have uploaded one very short segment ridden on my fixed wheel bike, on which I scored second place. Mostly I just log longer rides to create a record of where I've been.
