I am looking to invest in a new GPS device for my bike to use for following new routes...

Ideally i want something that is affordable and easy to use and navigate, with a clear screen and directions.

Any advice would be very much appreciated,

Thanks in advance!

You may need to address affordable for some that may be £100 for others £500. I would like a Garmin myself and I currently use my phone if needed

It depends what you want to use it for.

If it is for plotting routes or downloading routes onto or from a PC and just using it as a GPS device. I would get a Garmin Touring. I have one and it is excellent, all over Europe.

If you want to measure heart rate, Cadence etc I am sure many will come forward and advise you.

A lot of guys just use their phones for GPS navigation.

Here for rides.
Garmin eTrex 20 if you don't care about heart rate and all the performance related stuff and just want routes and maps.
Garmin Edge of the better sort, if you do.

(I use eTrex for navigation - with OpenCycleMaps mapping - and a Forerunner watch which I have for running to record how much it hurts and dump to strava)

The newish Edge 520 looks like a super bit of kit. Quite tempted to trade in my 200 and 705.

I've got a garmin 500 which does everything I want and they are going cheap now with the launch of the 520 you can get one on wiggle with heart rate, speed and cadence for £120...getting a lot for the money, the same on CRC is £175........worth a look.....;)

Garmin Touring sounds like what i might be looking for - I'm not too fussed about heart rate etc...
