I wanted a nice easy ride this morning, Harlow, Waltham Abbey, High Beach for a cuppa, then home via Epping. I haven't done a lot following my thyroidectomy just before Christmas, so am not going too mad. I got to Waltham Abbey OK, then got mixed up between the A121 and the A112, and in my true style I took the wrong one and ended up in Waltham Cross and heaven knows where. Eventually I made it back to Waltham Abbey, then saw a sign to Chingford so went that way, and that got me to Avey Lane, the road up into the forest. I had to get off and have a push up part of that hill. The tea stop at High Beach was most welcome. It was then just a quick ride home via Epping with a decent tail wind to help me along. Even though I did 10 miles more that I planned it was a good ride and I enjoyed it.
