I have a week off booked in June and was planning on heading to France but the friends I was going with have pulled out leaving me with a free week. I want to spend it doing some rides in places ive not done before. I have family and friends in Plymouth and Leeds which I can use as a base, so where shall I go? Im happy with booking into hotels etc as well.

Any ideas?

There's plenty of good cycling in the Leeds area and a lot of local CycleChat members who could show you around if you decided to head north!

It's less than an hour to get here by train from Leeds or about a 45 minute drive so you could come along on one of my hilly forum rides if you fancied that and I was available to organise one.

Yes, I would head for south western Ireland and perhaps do a S to N ride up the coast. You will have some real adventures.

North Yorkshire moors? Road riding is not my thing but when I get up there with the family on a nice day there always seem to be plenty of roadies about, so the riding must be good.

Yes, agreed, the North Yorkshire moors are absolutely stunning with some superb little corners to explore. Might be better on an MTB though to get the full flavour of the area.

Thanks for the suggestions, a ride from Leeds to Plymouth sounds good and Ive already started to look at routes. The other possibility I thought about was to go visit a couple of friends and ride a few parts of the country whilst Im at it. Have the aforementioned ones in Leeds and Plymouth, could pop into Cornwall and have one in Newbury and Kent. Any good routes people know in these parts?

Thanks
