I'm getting a bit fed up with Big Brother Google Chrome and thinking of deleting my account and trying something else.

Bing seems to be a good alternative, I've used it a few times. Even the old internet explorer MSN still performs.

One that did catch my eye which I tried and "apparently" doesn't distribute your personal info etc to be tracked is DuckDuckGo. Nice, simple display and format and no ad tracking.

Might give it a go and say goodbye Google.

I know, but I'll try:smile:

Just been checking DuckDuckGo, it's a search engine only, not a web browser like Google, so you don't have bookmarks of your favourite sites.

I'm not sure any of the large commercial browser providers are in any way trustworthy in that regard. You may simply be swapping a date with Fred West for a romantic walk with Harold Shipman.

DDG for me.

Used Google Analytics as one of my w*rk tools for a while. It's very good at collecting behavioural data from you. Been discussed thoroughly elsewhere but installing a Virtual Private Network (VPN) or hiding on the dark web are probably your best options for avoiding Google.

I use DuckDuckGo as my search engine on chrome on my Ubuntu box and on both phone and tablet.
