So here goes - a what gear thread....

I sweat too much for a jacket from this weekend through to March and need a good winter l/s jersey.

I have one soft shell and that gets a bit hot for me so if anyone has a good idea for one that doesnt do this - taht would suit!

In the meantime, looking for a good reasonably med to heavy weight l/s cycling specific jersey with pockets etc.

Quality preferable but no problem with value!

Was looking at SHutt VR and some Gore stuff but need some pointers if anyone has any.

Thanks in advance

I've a giordana one which seems to match your description (an earlier one of these) and my favourite is the Endura Jetstream, I've a few cheap ones from aldi, which are a good weight for me too, my others I find a little too warm at this time of year.

I know the SVR winter jacket is very good value...under priced for what a good product it is.

I've got various winter wear and one is an Endura MT500. Like I sweat like a good 'un so it has to be the right weather.

My fave winter base layer is merino wool and got a second when I saw the same half price. Fantastic for warmth, comfort and dealing with sweat and barely grabs bo, unlike the Helly Hansen that I have - the merino doesnt need to be washed for days.

Hey,

Have a look at the new Specialised zip up mid weight jersey, just right for those cold days, but don't need a jacket! They look stunning in red! Well we all need to be a little fashion concious.

Well had a late ride yesterday and my God I am not sure it is still shorts weather.... Leaving at 4pm was not a good idea for a 2hr ride....

HOWEVER, wore a compression top and a new Shutt long sleeve jersey. I could feel the wind for the first 20 mins or so and then it had no effect as it was kind of cooling and stopping me sweating like a child in Hamleys on Xmas morning.

Still think I will have to throw a pair of tights over and maybe get a heavier weight L/S jersey for next weekend?

So, back to my point; long sleeve Merion under layer or just a heavier weight top? If I could get the same Shutt jersey in slightly heavier weight I would be back at Xmas morning - without the sweting
