can anyone recomend a good frame painter... i can send the frame...


just wanting to get my cross frame painted through the year for next season

Get it blasted and powdercoated. It's a 'cross frame. It needs to be tough and cheap enough to redo.

I've used by Dave Yates and Bob Jackson - the latter did a particularly good job last time I had my frame resprayed.

Bob jacson will charge you upwards of £75.

A powdercoat will cost you around £20.

A cheap powdercoater out of the Yellow Pages would be the cheapest option. Just make sue they have done a bike before. There are quite a few stories about bikes having the threads filled full of paint , and heavy handed treatment

Beware of Mercian if it's not a classic 1970s road frame - I gave them my alloy mtb frame and they did a really crap job IMO!

I've just had my frame sprayed by Mercian and granted it cost a hundred pounds, but they did a fantastic job on my rusty (Steel) frame.
