Just before Xmas I treated myself to a Park PCS9 workstand and finally got to use it in earnest today.
And what a wonderful thing it is - makes life so much easier.
Today's jobs:
Adjust front and rear mech's. The front was occasionally over shifting when changing down and the rear was rattling slightly before changing up the cassette every now and again. Set them up from scratch and they seem spot-on now but it was so easy carrying out the adjustments at a comfortable height without having to crouch down etc.
Sort out squealing front brakes. I have TRP CX9's and whilst they are very powerful the front has been wailing like a banshee. Way back in the past it has taken me ages to adjust brakes whilst balancing the bike and trying to tighten nuts etc at the same time. Much, much easier with the stand. Managed to sort the brakes too. Flat to rim did not work, toe-in did not work but toe-out did. Not a noise on the very steep hill where I live.
And, finally, deal with the weird rythmic scrape from the rear brake/rim when braking. This was caused by little blobs of alloy on the rim, very tiny but the noise they produce is pretty loud. Anyone know what causes these? Managed to sand them off with a very fine 'nib remover' used in car bodyshops. Sorted.

Quite chuffed with my efforts and very pleased with my workstand.
