(Apologies if this is in the wrong section)
Evening,
I recently purchased a Specialized Crosstrail Sport 2015 Hybrid bike within the cycle to work scheme.
I wanted a quality-ish(so I thought) bike, as I had read reviews about this and watched videos I thought this would be the right bike for me as I wanted a bit of road and footpath-ed rigid riding.
Unfortunately, only after TWO weeks of having the bike, and only really doing at max around 12 miles a day for i'd say 6 days in total. I was riding along ( I've googled and know about the J.R.A comment =P) and came across a squeek noise. I stopped and checked it out, as I'm a new rider i thought nothing of it and carried on as I couldn't see nothing physically wrong with the bike, I also had my partners dad behind me on his bike and he checked it out for me as hes a more experienced rider.
Anyways,
Basically when I was riding my bike locked up and it turned out my rear derailleur and mech had completely snapped off the hangar. causing this to lock my bike up and I couldnt do anything.
Ive heard off people and two cycle shops that the Hangar is mean to snap off to prevent it damaging your frame. But I'm just Pee'd off that it has happened two weeks from having my brand new £600!!!! bike.
My main question is this,
Would you consider this to be under warranty?
The shop has said it's down to accidental damage, but i cannot see where i have accidently damaged it doing anything wrong apart from cycling like you should?
Please could anyone share their views on this.
Sorry it's long winded and I probably could of shortened this to one sentence but I'm being charged and wanted a rant!
Thanks
P.S below is the spec of the bike
