Here for rides.
spot of spare time on me hands, as I'm excused duties on two wheels this weekend, so this morning we

cleaned the green 'un removing all traces of its off road adventures in the West of Scotland
replaced the brake pads front and rear in its BB7s and adjusted them 'just so'
chain off cleaned the cassette and chainrings with a stack of babywipes
put on a nice new SRAM 951 chain
put the champion flyer special saddle back on after it had dried out and been proofhided, seems to have been resurrected
swaped the campag pads for koolstops on the black 'un

What fettling have you done this weekend?

Cleaned the entire thing, including the chain, cassette, wheels, the lot. Went to relube the chain etc and found the rear wheel buckled. Not a happy bunny, it seems. It's off being re trued in Halfords (Yes, I have one that's decent, surprisingly...) and I'm waiting for it back on Monday.

Put some Deda compact bars on my Basso (so levers, cables and tape faffage aplenty) and went for a ride. Compacts are .

Put some Midge bars on my fixed and wrapped with tape. Cleaned ther frame and gave it its first polish in ten years. Sparkly!

I spent yesterday afternoon yakking with the guy who sprayed it ten years ago, as I've decided to get him to do my new project. His workshop is an Aladdin's cave of beautiful steel framesets going back sixty years - some very rare and exotic. I'd love to take some pictures of the place as I think they could make a great feature for a magazine like Rouleur or sumfing.

Tonight my Verenti had its front mech adjusted and its saddle position tweaked. Last night my fixed had its weekly check and clean, chain tension, tires checked for debris, brakes checked and a look over for any problems.

Wiped the mud off the Surly, oiled the chain and put a front mudguard on. All ready for next Sunday's Veterans 100. (And so am I!)

Yesterday was my first serious fettle. I'd bought a new chain and cassette to install at a LCC maintenance night, but due to a mess up at chainreaction, I'd missed the night and decided to install them myself. Slow work as I kept running inside to consult with Prof Google, but very happy with the result.

The previous cassette was clearly whatever was lying around and not well match to my bike. I noticed a 10% increase in top speed moving from a 12 to 11 tooth cog (16" wheels) today, so feeling pretty pleased with myself

Well after damaging my thumb with the bottom bracket debacle yesterday, I thought that today I would rest up. Went swimming with Cycle_Son, determined to stay away from the bike.

Still happened to stop by the LBS on the way home for a quick look in the window .

Managed to resist for a couple of hours then ended up in the garage again. Got the bike cleaned and polished (including the metal bits which were a bit dull. Then adjusted the derailleurs (again).

Is there such a place as cyclists anonymous ?

My chain really needed a good clean and I used one of those cheap Aldi chain cleaners (or was it Lidl). Came up quite well. Keep it quiet though wouldn't want Mickle to hear about it.

Get moving we cant all stay in suspense!

Much of the really interesting stuff went out last week, so the walls were relatively empty, but
