Does anyone know if they'll be having the same offer on their camping stuff? I notice it's fishing today.

In the Bedford store at the weekend for another reason but browsed the bike kit and to be honest it's not the sort of stuff that's worth buying. Typical of the large "sport" stores.

Depends on the store, some have quit e large sections. Basildon used to be OK. Harlow is a fairly good one

I find that the best use for Go Outdoors is the outdoor clothing. I got Helly Hansen base layer stuff quite cheap, and have bought loads of Regatta fleeces as the mid layer. I even think my windproof layer is from there too.

A Go Outdoors store has recently opened near maison Scoosh and I've been down a couple of times to have a look.

It seems to be a British version of Decathlon (= not quite as well stocked

). Some brands are higher end, some lower, much in the middle. Not sure if it's any cheaper than elsewhere - unless on a special.

The cycling stuff is a bit thin on the ground and, if they have what you need, acceptable. Just don't expect to find anything special.

I don't find it as threatening to the credit card as is Decathlon  !

I went in today and got quite a few things as delayed Xmas presents.

Some of their bike stuff is very average but the store in Norwich does a few known brands such as Sealskinz.

Got some lube, a windproof top but best of all, an Abus Granite lock at half price.

I've had a card for the last 3 years. To begin with I got some good bargains but lately it has got a little expensive and better deals can be had elsewhere.
I looked at their 3 man pop up tent and was sorely tempted last year. I looked around and found a better deal on the Gelert (which is exactly the same as Go's Higear tent).
I will still go back to the web site and see what offers are on but will think carefully about getting a card and shopping there again.

Their 50% off sale is only 50% off RRP, so the couple of things I looked at were the same price at CRC.

Go Outdoors is similar to Towsure -good for a bargain, but a fair bit of junk, scruffy and hard to find your way around.

thats a good way of putting it

I don't think you HAVE to have the Discount card, but It pays for itself pretty soon.
It can be a bit of a lottery, but there are good bargains to be had and a lot of useful general camping-kit under one roof. Generalist rather than specialist.

No, you don't need a card if you wish to pay their "non discount" price (which you won't as its deliberately high).

They often get job lots of big name stuff in and pile into the racks as you enter the store. Not cycling, but I got a very good Berghaus outer for half the price Blacks had it in their "sale".
