Contact adhesive would be my best idea but the solvent stuff may melt the rubber . They do a non solvent based version but ive only used it once and thought it was a bit rubbish .
Edit . Tub glue may work . I glue my rubber tubs to a wheel with it and they dont fall off although you can rip them off when the tyre is deflated .

More information needed. What's the application? How do they make those rubber/steel laminated blocks, which are used to dampen vibration on car drive trains?

Superglue, a good one.

I wrote that and did not post it but I am sure you are correct.

Somewhere in the depths of my memory I remember using it as a repair on Austin Princess rear suspension mounts.

I've bonded rubber to metal with superglue a fair few times now without issue.

We use Wurth branded but I'm sure most reputable brands will do the job well.

Depends on the situation - what loads? Will it be loaded in torsion, shear, tension etc?

Contact adhesive may work but may peel. Epoxy adhesive may also work. You can get superglues which are rubberised and designed for flexible materials, or two part isocyanate based adhesives (similar to superglue).

Best bet would be to go to an industrial adhesives supplier or manufacturer, describe your application to them and see what they recommend, or download the application guides from their websites, or look at application guide pages such as http://www.loctite.co.uk/products-by-application-4371.htm

Mate of mine works for a military contractor. They use Sikaflex to glue spall liners into tanks - it's a different order of magnitude more effective than epoxies or cyanoacrylate adhesives.

He gets me the stuff which is officially date expired, but which in reality is still perfectly fine.
