Glue for carbon frame

Got one of those imobilize things, its a little chip which im supposed to glue inside the frame. What i need to know is, what glue is safe on carbon? i dont want to go melting my frame.

Use epoxy/araldite - it doesn't react with anything.

Mine came with a two part epoxy glue. Frame hasn't dissolved so far

Yea i assumed they would provide something. il go for the epoxy approach, out of interest where did you put yours? i was thinking in the bottle cage bolt hole in the seat tube.

Put it somewhere difficult to get at, so it can't be removed.

Silicon bathrooom sealant would work just as well.

Comes in 2 flavours. I went for the 'split frame' option - the tag just glues somewhere inside your frame (as inaccessible as possible) Other option (I think) is something like a star-fangled nut that you just push down a frame tube.


Its the only way I can think of of marking a carbon frame. Stamping a postcode into a carbon frame sounds an extrodinarily bad idea to me.

It's a bad idea in any good frame - makes a right mess of the paint !

ive bought some araldite but got the 'glass and ceramic' one. will this be a problem?
