Hey guys. Not long got a bike and can't wait to get some proper riding under my belt.
I'm amassing some gear but I'm struggling with gloves.
I want some cold weather but not overly hot gloves with a gel pad.
Would appreciate some suggestions/links
Thanks
Phil

I have these winter gloves which come with gel pads. http://www.evanscycles.com/products/endura/strike-womens-winter-glove-ec025184
they have been good so far. wore them for a lot of my tour last year, used each and every day from september through to Dec and then again in Feb. when it is cold enough I put a set of icebeaker merino wool liners underneath - so buy them slack (makes it easier to get them off and on when hands are sweaty/wet and it is raining). They are beginning to not be as waterproof as they were now, but I put them through hell and back on a world tour, so am kinda expecting to have to replace them soon.

Don't cycle much in the cold anymore but I agree with the above. I use a pair of leather palmed fingerless gloves [with padding] over a pair of unpadded gloves to keep the pinkies warm. Allows you to keep up with the changing weather [a bit].

Buying gloves online can be a bit of a lottery because the sizing isn't as standard as other items of clothing. I usually buy 'medium' gloves but I've got 'large' pairs that are a good fit and a 'medium' pair that's much too big.

Hand temperature seems to vary massively between individuals - I've never found one pair of gloves that does all year or all conditions. Endura "Full Monty's" are the closest I've found to a 3 season pair but not warm enough in the depths of winter - for that Aldi winter cycling gloves are good value and, for me, they work well up to about 5C - after which they're far too warm. I think mine cost about a fiver.
