I've had glasses since about 12, when the school nurse picked up that I couldn't read an eye chart that I should have been able to.

I'm quite happy wearing them - I wear them from the moment I get up to the moment I go to bed. I do find that in heavy fog or rain that the water on the lenses reduces my visibility a fair bit (sometimes in those conditions I drop them to the end of my nose and peer over!).
I also have react-to-light in them, and would recommend that. It's not for everyone, but on a bright day it's great.
I was also taken in and paid extra for glare protection which should be "great for cycling", but the jury is still out on that one.

The optician pretty much said "cycling = contacts", but I'm not fashion concious and the lady in the opticians said that men often have greater issues putting things in their eyes (I would).
My GF has disposable contacts and loves them. She did contemplate laser surgery, and then saw a video on how they access your lens by cutting away at the cornea and bending it back *shudder* and promptly changed her mind!

Yes it is
I've always been particular about sunglasses...
Settled for a pair of Oakley frames ...

Glad it's not just me wants glasses that are comfortable as my cycling glasses. My reading glasses are also Oakleys, which is why I never lose them - as I always shove them up on top of my head same as I do with the cycling ones.

I have worn glasses since the early 1950's. Never really got used to them, tried contacts but could not be bothered with the hassle of putting them in. Hate the rippoff prices that are charged for fancy frames and lense. Got my last pair from Asda who fitted a a new pair of lense in to a Boots frame, when boots were only concerned with supplying a compleat package. Biggest problem today is taking them off to use the computer and forgetting where I put them.
