Giro USA?

I thought the Vuelta spending much of the first week in the low countries was crazy but the Giro starting in Washington beggars belief!

It's a bit like the Tour of Qatar organisers saying that they would like to host a couple of stages of the TdF.

Qatar would be easier with a smaller time difference - DC being 6 hours behind would either give the riders jet lag or they would have to ride in the early hours of the morning to make the transfer back easy.

Taking out of Europe seems stupid to me but of course for the organizers they only look at the possible extra cash. I doubt the riders or teams will be asked for their opinions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i personally think they should keep all the races inside the country hosting it i.e. tdf in france, giro in italy and so on. find it a bit pointless, they should just have 1 massive 1 called tour de europe lol or world then include all different countrys.

Can't see happening though. There wolud be too much time wasted on planes and having a rest day so early in the competion would damage tv interest, and mine for that matter!
