How is the fit? Are they quite small, normal or roomy? Thanks

Normal to roomy ime.

I found them narrow (SPD lace up type)...but the different models probably vary in fit!
I’d have a look at the purchaser reviews for the models of interest on eg Sigma,
If buying online, use a retailer with free delivery or returns (registering and buying through PayPal gets return costs refunded too)

i tried giro and went 2 sizes up and they were still tight

I find them a little narrow fitting
much prefer lake or rapha

I have wide feet and only have mine a half size up because feet swell when cycling after an hour of riding. Don't tighten the BOA too much as it will turn into hot foot.
