The Giro is upon us Saturday afternoon with a 8.4km individual time trial in Amsterdam to kick things off:
Not exactly the hilliest of profiles, as you can see. With a distinct lack of early mountain stages it will be a place for the stronger rouleurs with GC aspirations to score an early blow - Vinokourov, Evans, Wiggins and Bruseghin will look to grab a few seconds on the likes of Sastre, Scarponi and Basso. It's just short enough for the sprinters, too.
David Millar has made a sensational start to this season and if he isn't too burnt out already he should do well.
