Giant ridesense not waking up

Going for a new battery first thing in morning but let's see if any Giant owners can help me before I do.
Only used the ridesense a few times before hanging the bike up for winter and it was working fine before that. Went to use it on the turbo today and the thing won't wake up. No flashing lights etc. .....
I took the battery out and waited 30 secs before reinstalling, hoping that would help but no joy.
Can anyone tell me which sensor actually activates the device because if it's just the cadence sensor then I may have to adjust the position of it perhaps.

Have now contacted tredz about a replacement as it's only 3 months old. Read lots of reviews today slating them. Shame tho coz they look really smart compared to the Garmin version
