What are your thoughts on this bike? Anyone got one? I'm swaying towards getting this as my commuter and for some rd rides out with friends. Also thinking I could put bigger tyres on for when I go a little off rd on the gravel tracks. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

Do you specifically want flat bars?
Carbon bikes can be problematic when it comes to racks and mudguards which might be limiting

Perhaps look at the Brava SLR?

Thanks Vickster. I'm edging towards flat bars as I think they will be better for me in traffic. However, I have test ridden the Brava SLR and liked it, particularly the smooth gear change but it did seem heavy to me although it's described as lightweight. I think the stock tyres on it may have been weighing it down but can't be sure. Have you got a Brava? How is it on the hills which I need a bit of help on gear wise ^_^

No Brava myself

I have three drop bar bikes, and a Whyte flatbar

Personally the comax is a nice colour but a fugly design

I like a rack and mudguards on a commuter which would discount carbon for me. Carbon for weekend toy

Mrs Martinclive has the basic thrive 2 - nice bike for most purposes and half the price (but no discs)

Watch out on sizing as they only make 3 sizes and big jumps between them

Mrs Bicykell also has the Thrive2. Very sweet looking bike, light and comfortable. She preferred it to the Comax.
