hi guys i don't know if this is the right place for this topic but anyway, i'm currently riding a Giant Defy Alliance 1 and am thinking about getting a new group set (i am looking at the SRAM rival/ Shimano Ultegra). Is it worth upgrading this bike? or should i just get a new bike? Thanks in advance!

Depends on how much you like the bike, but an upgrade is probably not going to make the night and day difference to justify the cost. You don't mention which groupset is already on the bike, I'm guessing it's 105 from a quick google search. What improvements are you looking for in a new groupset?

sorry, i have tiagra and sora components on this bike (sora brakes) here is a link to the website (http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-au/bikes/model/defy.alliance.1/5307/37464/), i haven't changed anything (except adding drink bottle holders, etc.) I want a ten speed cassette (maybe 53,39), just wondering if that is worth paying for... but i'm not that unhappy with the performance of the gears (my LBC let my ride a bike with the ultegra 6600 and the only thing i noticed is that i don't have to "push" the lever as far to change gears). so are you saying i should rather get a fancy set of wheels? (again looking at the Ultegra 6700 - $500)
