I wish i could work out how to get a pic up on here
it's been serviced every 3 months, it has some scratches on the bar ends i put on it (cost £60), it fell over while i was closing the back gate. Other than that, it's got some slight marks on the rear section where i've leaned it up against walls and stuff but it is literally every day stuff. (not down to the ally anywhere - T-Cut would take them out). i've never had an 'off' on it and it's never let me down.
The hub is a key feature. it's an Alfine hub which means that all 8 gears are held internally and with much technical wizardry this means you have no messy derailleur to worry about, you have the chain set and that's it. it also has built in lights (which are only really useful as fancy reflectors) and they didn't last long over bumpy roads - if you're handy with a soldering iron, you could get them working again no problem.
Here's a really decent link to the bike: http://bikescore.co.uk/giant/city-speed-cs-2011
