I have been putting 4 1/2 bars of pressure in my Giant Entour E2’s tires.

This being said the front tire always seems to be a little under-inflated.

I started inflating it to five bars but when I stop especially on hills it still looks a little “soggy”.

I recently changed the tires maybe that is the problem?

Iis this normal i.e. that the front tire looks a little soggy?

Thanks for any answers.

4.5-5 bar is what 65-72 psi, which doesnt seem unreasonable for a 45mm tyre which probably has a max psi rating of 75? (this sould be written on the tyre wall, possibly with a min psi as well.

if anything 5 bar is a bit high, especially if you are lighter than average (whatever that may be).

Funny that while on the bike even at 5 bars it flattens out…

Maybe it’s the brand of tire itself?

or maybe your pump gauge is knackered? they should measure all brands equally.:okay:

add a pictured as there is flattened and flattened

you should be able to nip it in a bit with your fingers, but certainly not be able to push the tyre down anywhere near the rim.

In fact it is an electric digital pump Brand new so I think OK…

Indeed a nip but no way that I get down to the rim.

I went to my excellent bike store :
Paris Bike shop

and they confirmed the tire indeed was underinflated.

This picture just after having used the digital pump and inflating "5 bars".

It seems as T4tomo suggested the digital pump or its gauge is kapput.

The bike shop inflated the tire and inspected it and said there was nothing wrong. I'll keep track of the tire but will now go back to a good old old-fashioned pump. No more gadgets.

Thank you all for your time and suggestions!
