So I have a turbo trainer and I would like to put together a training wheel instead of ruining my rear tire. ( I would just switch tire but I only have the one road bike and i use it for commuting also, so it would be a pain to keep changing tires).
The question is!

Would this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wilkinson...sure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&hash=item43c23b483d

And This: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/...nitedKingdom&gclid=CLX0kdKh27wCFcuWtAodrU8ACQ

Work with this bike: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_810691_langId_-1_categoryId_165710

And if anyone can recommend a good cheap training tire that would be good also.
Thanks

They are all compatible, so other than that you may want to put a tyre and tube on it then it should be fine.

The only issue with having a separate training wheel is that the chain may be worn from using your other wheel and may slip a bit.

Ive never used a training tyre on my turbo, just the originals......never noticed any massively additional wear as the contact with the turbo is minimal, nothing like the road. How often will you use it ?

Im using it when the weather gets abit bad to go out. Just bought new tires for my bike didnt want them to be ruined after many people said they can destroy your rear tire. I Have Conti Gatorskin hardshells

I end up using any old tyre I have around. At the moment I'm burning through a set of nimbus armadillos that punctured for fun on my commuter so might as well put them to use elsewhere.

So would it be okay just to carry on using my gatorskins on it, as its only being used when the weather is bad. Obv buying a whole new rear wheel setup will cost me but then i have no worries of ruining my tire.

I bought a cheap wheel and block (as I use an old hybrid on the turbo) so as not you wear out tyres, wheels etc of my road bike. Main difference I found was more noise than from dedicated turbo tyres but other than that I've had no issue. Would imagine your gator skins would be little different to the armadillos.

I have a turbo bike sat on the turbo at all times, it is used regularly by two people, the tyre has been on there 3 years now and is showing no excessive signs of wear. It was just a cheapy slick of some kind, tyre wear maybe just another internet myth, well at least it is here.
