Getting Shimano shoes tight

I find that my new Shimano shoes are a little difficult to get the laces tight
THe arrangement is quite hard to get the laces especially at the toe end tight, but you need this for a good positive release from the pedals

I guess this is why most shoes have velcro and/or ratchet straps.

I do have velcro but you need the laces tight at the toe end to get the necessary easy release
