Although my bike was less injured than me in my August accident , there is a scratch along the top tube on one side - what's the best way to buff/polish out?
Cheers

If it's brushed ti finish, a bit of genttle rubbing with a scotchbrite pad should remove the scratch :okay:

How deep is it? How annoying would it be to leave it?
I adore my ti bike and am not precious enough about it to remove every little scratch that appears. It is to be ridden, not hang on the wall as a pice of art - although I fully appreciate those who have the need to keep their bikes pristine.

Deep enough and quite long. annoying enough to leave. I’ll try to get a photo tomorrow

Not great photos, the scratches are smooth to touch

Umm, the one in the first photo looks like a bit of a dent. Being where those are I'm not sure they can be sorted without affecting the logos, I would look for professional advice.
Nope, no dent to feel.
I’ll get it looked at at some point, no rush and it’s just cosmetic. The damage to me is much worse (I wish I’d totalled the frame and not me, given the potential impact on my Bupa subs going forwards  !)

Here's hoping for a full recovery.

The problem you are going to have is that if you buff out the scratches, you will probably need to do the whole bike to match the patina of the Ti. You may be able to get away with just the one tube.
As someone has said, try a fine scotch pad on a little of the scratch to see what results you get.

I used to do it on my Ti frames, but in the end I decided all the scratches and blemishes are what makes Ti stand out.
