ok im trying to get fit and shed a few poundslol

what i want to know is will swimming and fell/jogging be bad for my cycling ??

at the end of the day its all fitness isnt it??

im swimming 2hur seshons mondays,wednesdays and fridays then do 5 mile fell jogging on tuesdays and thursdays i go jogging on weekends but now i have my bike i intend to use the weekends to get some miles in on the bike also commuite to work when the rain stops lol thanx lee!! :thumbsup:

Swimming will improve your breathing technique which will benefit your cycling. Jogging/fell running will ensure you load your bones and don't get brittle bones (which can stop you cycling.

It's all good :biggrin: - called Cross-training!

They all tend to use different muscles, so it's a good thing to do all three. Sticking to one for a period of time tends to cause others to suffer due to the muscles used. Example, I've recently started swimming and have found cycling does very little for your core and upper body muscles, something swimming utilises.

The thing you need to watch with swimming is that if the pool is cold you will want to eat loads after... so it can be detrimental if that's a problem.

Footy is no good for cyclists. Swimming is great - running OK, but watch the shocks - so run off road. TBH looks fine from what you are doing.

Me - it's cycling ONLY - so doomed...........:whistle:
