I went out at 6 this morning, there was definitely a chill in the air. I had on my bib tights, a short sleeved cycling top and a long sleeved woollen cycling top. On the way out the door i grabbed my beanie hat as well.

I work nights, i finished work at 5.45a.m, and wanted to go out rather than go to bed. I don't like going to bed on a saturday morning, it eats into my weekend to much so i go out for a ride instead, i'll stay awake now till later on tonight and go to sleep when normal people do...

Keep Calm and OMG.......CAKES!!
I have a friend who does the same........he stays up all day after working friday nights. As you say, the weekend is gone by the time you get up mid saturday afternoon

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Yes i have been commuting home all week around 5.30 am after nights and i have had on shorts , a short sleeve jersey and a shower proof as it has been pissing it down.
It is distinctly getting chillier and i have been looking at getting the base layers ready soon.

On nights i use the car on a friday night as we do an early start that means i would have to cycle on unlit country roads at 3 am with all the work nutters and piss heads doing around 70 mph on twisty dark roads so i wimp out and take the car.

I leave for work around 5am and it's definitely getting chilly but I like it, I tend to be in my work trousers and a t-shirt (and a gore tex jacket/ trousers due to the fantastic weather we're having) so the chill in the air makes my arrival at work slightly more comfortable.
Bring on the frosty, misty mornings.

I've noticed the chill a lot more too. I go out on a ride most nights and time myself on a 7.5 mile ride. The last few nights I've done it I have noticed a definite chill. The strong winds we have been getting is worse though. On Saturday on a general ride, when cycling down a fairly fast, steep hill (got up to 40mph anyway) the wind caught me and blew me right next to the curb. I foresee a bad winter ahead.

Went out for a big Bank Holiday ride yesterday and as the first five miles to my pal's house is almost all downhill I wore my winter wind proof and left it at his house.
