Hi guys !!
Ive paid up on my 2010 Allez Sport so now im getting itchy wallet syndrome, I was originally seriously pondering a Ribble Sportive Bianco which gets fab reviews across the board magazine wise, but after nipping into my local LBS I was talking to the shop assistant and he asked me have I thought of going down the steel route in particular the Genesis Equilibrium 20. I must say it looks the dogs kalulas and reviews say its a super soft ride on our rough UK roads which would suit my london location.
The Allez will be kept as a fast commuter bike.
So on one hand I have the super slick carbon machine and on the other hand I have the drop dead gorgeous retro ride.............. Helppppppp !!

PS Please take into account Im doing a few sportive,s and week-end 25-40 miles rides on whatever bike I decide on ,so it will prob be mainly a week-end and besty bike.

Difficult decision. The Ribble Sportives are lovely to look at and are well regarded, but so are Genesis....

I've yet to go carbon, but my two steel bikes do absorb shocks well, the steel forks do a better job than carbon ones (got carbon forks on my alloy fixed).

I'd see if you can test ride.
My steel bikes are 653 and Columbus SLX - the SLX has internal helicoil ribs at all the lugs, and is very stiff, yet compliant.
