Bought one of them on impulse ,ten miles into my 20 mile ride this morning I took it off again.

Nice and comfy initially but seemed to get very hot down there and made the bike handling a bit soft and spongy,felt much cooler without it and the bike seemed more responsive. Oh well it didnt cost a lot.

you want a firm and precise contact betwwen saddle and sit bones, anything else is going to cause problems

padded shorts are good

I bought one form tesco extra, less than £6 as i remember, i think it makes a good difference, especially at the 15 mile mark

Soft saddle cover might be good for short rides, but on longer rides they will be come very uncomfortable. You'd be much better off saving your money and buying a decent saddle.
