The chain slips between gears on the rear cassette intermittently more on the top 4 large sprokets..
If I change gear again straigtht away this seems to cure it..
What would I adjust or change to make right..?

You need to adjust the cable tension by using the fitting you will find , mainly at the rear where the cable enters the mech. Most likely there is some slack in the cable so you need to tension it up until the gears no longer skip. You may also have adjusters at the shifter end or on the downtube, depends on the bike or groupset you have fitted.
I suspect someone will be along with a link to a video shortly.

Assuming that your chain and Cassette are not in need of changing, it may be time to change the cables if adjustment doesn't help. Over time they stretch. This means they will move the correct amount at one end of the cassette, but as more and more tension is applied to move up the cassette, the movement from the shifter goes into making the cable stretch rather than moving the derailleur.

Also, check the condition of your jockey wheels. If they are worn out you will also have problems shifting.
