Got a quick ride out this afternoon and was very windy to say the least. Probably made me notice this more as a result.

When going onto the highest gears I am noticing some slight increase in noise and that the rude doesn't feel anywhere near as smooth. Is this normal once you move to the higher gears, or is this something I should look to adjust?

It's not really bad tbh, but was noticeable. Cheers guys.

It could be that you need to adjust the limit screws and/or the indexing on the rear derailler. Here's my favorite video if you want to have a stab at it yourself. Even if you don't, it gives you an idea of what's going on.

Cheers. Have adjusted mechs on MTB's before, but my roadie is new. Same principal, but that vid is the simplest I have seen it explained. Got a book from years back, but just explains how and not why!

Off to search for the front mech vid from them now, as think that it could be just rubbing on the edge possibly.

My cassette at the rear needs changing as it is completely wrecked. I understand how to do that and I have ordered the tools and the cassette after watching a few videos online...but setting up the gears, well it doesn't matter how many videos I watch, it's completely alien to me. I only turned a little screw half a turn once and the bike ended up back in the shop, lol. I suppose I have other talents, but gears, nah, not a clue.

Yes, it's very good, did he do one for the front mech? I will look...
Not that I could see. Same context as the back one really, aside from lining up with the mech with the front cogs to make sure that it's running straight.
