Hi All,

I have an Orange C16R I've had it for many years, it's the lightest metal frame mountain bike you'll find, I like it! But, my left changer will only move the chain on to the second chain ring; and although I don't use the big ring that much, I still miss being able to change in to it! I need a three click changer for the front chain-set ! Anyone have one lying around? or can you point me towards buying one - any shimano type from olivio up to the top model? if someone has one spare? I'll buy it from you!

Thanks

C16R is a heavy old beast for what it is - 28lb at least in standard spec [I've one in my basement]. Heavy old skool steel frame. Fine bike though.

Back to the point... Retro Rides or eBay is your best bet for Alivio. Or just pop down to your LBS as they may well have something to fit. Just make sure LBS is an older, non-franchised one or they'll just turn you away.

Have you tried a new cable or spraying WD40 right into the shifter unit? Or even the mech itself? Could even be the adjustment screw for the big ring. Those shifters were pretty bomb proof and I'm surprised it doesn't work.

Thank you guys!

BTW - My Orange C16R is one of the last they produced in this model rigid bike; and lightweight! Hey, even compared to some of the new models; it's pretty lightweight, nearer 20LBs, Anyhow, I like it, although It's not my main stead these days! Think I've found a changer with : Chain-Reaction!
