Just wondered how long a Garmin's life expectancy is, as we all know that electronic goods are not made to last for ever. I have had mine about 2 years now and it is still going strong, although it is not used every day, more like once a week and soon not at all until the spring. Mine is a 200 by the way, which is sufficient for my needs.

Had my garmin 500 for 4 years,used nearly every day,still working ok but the rubber cover over the buttons has split,and now no longer made.
Seen some 2nd hand on e bay

Had my Gatmin Edge 1000 for 16 months and it's still fine. I also use it throughout winter to log my turbo trainer sessions using the speed / cadence sensors.

Had my 800 three years, no complaints so far.
I was going to buy a 1000 but the 800 has given me no problems to date.

My Garmin emap GPS is 16 years old and still finding geocaches down to a distants of 3 feet
