Garmin Upgrade Itch: Anyone using a Fenix 3, or Fenix 3 HR?

What did you use previously?

If you use the Fenix HR do you find the non-exercise fitness stats at all useful?

Do you think it is a worthwhile step-up from a Fenix 2, which is what I currently run?

Quietly lusting after a Fenix 3 Titantium. Might settle for a Fenix 3 HR Sapphire; if such a beast exists, but still use a strap when running to get the full range of running data that is otherwise not available.

Just have the bog standard Fenix3 Sapphire (non-HR).

Wear it everyday to work and use it for running, gym, golf, cycling. Great bit of kit. Didn't even know a new one had come out!

like the look of the new sapphire HR, but have have 920xt so can't justify one, plus the usual garmin wait a year for them to sort a device out puts me off too, the issues with GPS accuracy are not selling it to me either, had my 920 since they came out and its finally in a good place in terms of the usual garmin bang your head off a wall just bloody work issues, had anywhere actually got the fenix 3 HR in stock, pretty rare from the internet searches i've done

Never had a problem with my Fenix 2. It just worked out of the box. But I'm not an accuracy Nazi. I don't expect spot on tracking when running, or riding, in the canyons of the urban environment.

never owned a fenix 2, so can't comment, but have quite a few garmin devices and had issues with them all, dont get me wrong once they finally iron out the issues there great devices, i probably will go for the fenix 3 hr, but will hold off until next year, once they come down in price (hopefully)

Hi GG

I've got a Fenix 3 HR Sapphire (yes they do exist) and I really like it. Probably the best of the various fitness trackers I've owned over the years and the battery life is excellent - beats the Apple Watch hands down.

I like the fact that it is really customisable and you can set up the various exercise types to suit yourself.

I have the Sapphire too and concur, it's a great bit of kit....
