Hi Guys,
My last couple of turbo sessions have been very hot and sweaty. After about half an hour my heart rate monitor seems to give up on me. Just wondered if anyone else has had a similar problem.

Thanks,

Mark.

Buy a polar strap and all your problems will be gone.

A fan is always a good idea, warm in the winter and cool when you need it. I've always found my Garmin ANT+ hrm to be very reliable, despite regularly making a large puddle underneath me. When did you last change the battery?

Mine works when it feels like it. I did change the battery but it made no difference.
It is out of guarantee but I won't bother with another one as they're very over priced for what they are(cadence sensor aswell).

Used to happen to me quite often, on reading the instructions I found I was actually meant to put just the strap in the washing machine fairly regularly . I had not washed it since I bought it probably over a year ago. I found this sorted it.

Mine like many was unreliable, which is why like many in the know I purchased a Polar soft strap to use with it, not a single missed beat since.

My Garmin premium soft strap was useless, replaced the sensor with a polar one which was recommended which worked well but in turn went tits up, went back to my old Garmin hard strap which performs flawlessly and also bought a Giant strap which also performs flawlessly, neither of which I have ever washed since I have had them, just a quick lick of the pads to wet them and away I go, but even without the lick they still work perfectly.

+1 for washing the strap or changing the battery. If battery is low it possibly gives up after a bit of work.
BTW Do you take it off the strap in-between sessions? This puts it in battery-save mode according to the instructions but I know people that don't.
