Hi I'm buying a garmin 500 and I'd like to fit a gsc10, but as my picture shows where I need to fit they are in effect in 2 parts! do you think it will fit ? Before I buy? Thanks in advance.

Never seen a bike that a GSC10 won't fit

Mount it on the outer leg, undo the screw on the speed pickup arm and lift it up and towards the speed magnet when fitted.

Otherwise, just buy the new hub/crank based magnetless sensors if really unsure

The Decathlon one is more reasonabley priced.

I've got 3 of the old style GSC-10 units on different bikes. I see they're €40 ish now, so they're not cheap either. I trashed one a few years back and remember that made my eyes water to replace it. I think I'll give the Decathlon one a go as it purportedly works with my Edge 305.

I have the GSC10 on my Winter bike, but recently bought the new version for my Summer bike.

Yes, the new version is more expensive, but it really only takes seconds to fit and so easy to remove for cleaning and for swapping between bikes. You only need to have 2 bikes and you're saving over 2 GSC10's. More bikes and more savings!

Thinking of selling the GSC10 for this reason now.

Very true. But if you already have a number of the old style ones then it's not quite as straight forward.

Cadence reporting isn't a must have for me. I'll happily pay the Decathlon price for it, but not full whack Garmin price. YMMV etc.
