I want to use my Garmin 705 Edge on both my mtb and new road bike. If I have one speed / cadence sensor fitted to the mtb, can I fit a different one to the road bike? Does the pairing detect automatically or have I got to repair every time I take it onto each different bike?

Thanks

Yes.

I have 3 bikes each with their own cadence sensor. Sometimes, I have to 'restart scan' on my Edge 305 to pick up a different bike but normally it just works automatically. I did go through the pairing process for each one though when I first fitted them.

I even have a theory (not that I'm able to test it) that I could fit a sensor to a 4th bike and it'd still be picked up. The Edge 305 only has the ability to store 3 bikes (weight, wheel size) but I reckon that might be irrelevant to actually recording cadence, it's probably used to calculate calorie usage or some other stat.

Set up a profile for each bike on your Edge. Under each profile you can pair with one of the sensors.
