I use a Forerunner 55 to record rides and walks, which has been doing with no problems for some time.
I have just noticed that when I look at the activities on Garmin Connect only some have any data on the elevation graph, whereas lots are blank. This has only happened in the least few months.
Not essential but irritating!
Any clues why this has happened?

Have you checked the Garmin forums to see if anyone else has reported the same problem?

Barometric pressure meter used? Could be faulty. I'd phone Garmin support. Do not email, this is important. I have got good service from them. A replacement Neo 2T free of charge including collection and delivery for a 5 year old unit as an example.

I don't think model has an altimeter in it, it plots the elevation from mapping , i think it must be a software issue

One less thing to worry about then.
In your run/ride data using Garmin Connect try selecting "Change Elevation Source" as below.

Just an aside I've always got prompt service from raising a ticket on https://support.garmin.com/en-GB/ NB that's prompt, not necessarily useful ;) I've never tried emailing or phoning.

When I connected it to the laptop with Garmin Express/Connect i found the memory of the watch was full and it hadn't been updating, cleared the memory and updated, see if that does the trick!
