Yes I can, Yes I am, Yes I did...Repeat.
I recorded a track file from a ride i did. I want to export it to bike route toaster to edit.
I have the garmin plugged in via usb. I have looked at the garmin site and others...apparently I should see a usb mass storage screen 'appear'...erm..but it doesn't. My garmin device is recognized and updated on th egarmin site.

Im thinking i may need some software installed on my laptop??

Confused...

TIA

Not done this in ages but the way i used to do it was to export the file to Garmin's Mapsource then save as a gpx.

Oaf on a Bike
I just use the export as gpx link in Garmin Connect, but I have a Forerunner not an Edge so can't be sure that works

Check under 'my computer' if an extra drive appears once the device is connected on usb.

Here for rides.
have you installed the garmin USB drivers, and the brower plugins?. I use a forerunner with various bits of cloud and local software and it all seems to work fairly smoothly, except on windows PC's where unrelated windows updates seem to break things from time-to-time

don't have mine to hand, but can you see it in the my computer view? (where you see all the other drive letters, hard drives, cd/dvd drives etc). if you do, just double click it. it sounds like you may have ticked a box in (I assume) windows to auto default to running the connect.garmin autorun file that is on the garmin device when it is connected and that is why you are not seeing that box. hope that made some sense - if not I can try again in the morning after soon more paracetamol and sleep... (and also with mine connected).

Ok thankyou everyone...

I did have gamin connect and it did recognise my device. I downloaded the garmin usb drivers, so i guess they were in there already.
Then I installed eaqsy gps and that worked. So I was able to get the gpx file from the garmin into Bikeroute toaster.

Thankyou:smile:

I will now go back and try mapsource in case its any easier or the interface is better ( i see no maps in easy gps..no big deal)

I have to say that i find garmins site very confusing.
