I've been through all the menus, but I can't find where to enter the wheel circumference.
It must have a default as 23 x 700 'cus it displays the distance about right.

Also, when I'm on the turbo trainer, the bloody thing stops working.

The Garmins have a laser sensor that detects wheel size so no need to enter a numerical value.

Unfortunately, the electronics are disrupted by the fields (both magnetic and heat) produced by a turbo hence it not working. I find that placing a mirror beside you so that you can count the number of time the valve passes the chain stays and calculate distance.

When I'm following a route, it says the road I should be on is PINK! No it's not, it' the same colour as all the other roads.

And there's supposed to be a blue circle on the road where I am. I ride and ride but never get to it.

And when I'm riding back from Meriden on the A45, the directions say "Keep right on Coventry Road"

This Garmin is a Birmingham City fan...! How does it know the bloke it belongs to is a Blues fan?

A laserrrrr? This isn't Austin Powers  Garmins can automatically calculate wheel size with a GSC10 or PowerTap if you want them to.

I'm assuming jimbo is joking, but if someone stumbles across this looking for the real answer, on a 705 it is Menu>Settings>Profile & Zones>Bike Profile.

Then after a four course lunch, got on the gym bike again and did another 30.5 miles in an hour...

Which set me up for evening Dinner.

Something else that's really annoying.

The Garmin gives me a route to follow. If I take a wrong turn, why doesn't it subtract my error from the 'Lap Distance' reading?

And when I'm riding backward, why doesn't it say MINUS mph?

Hmmm. I'd try switching the laser device to the back wheel, but on the other side of the hub, reversing the battery contacts and wearing the wrist device upside down on your RIGHT wrist.

Note: reverse all these directions if you're in the southern hemisphere due to the Coriolis effect of course. You can check which way to do it by watching your bath drain.

If you have chance to see this over the weekend, Garmins 'elevation' reading goes silly when its the other side of the satellites.
