I suspect that I may be being a little dim, but having bought an Edge 800, it duly arrived and I've set it up with Garmin Connect.

Turning to the installation of the OS Map supplied on an SD card, which come with no installation instructions, I'm now at a loss what to do!

The memory usage seems to be too great to download it onto the edge and there doesn't seem to be anywhere obvious to download it and then move the existing edge map and replace it with this; am I missing something blindingly obvious? (Using a windows system)

Thanks in advance

You don't download it. You need to detach the micro SD section of the card from the SD section (fingernails needed here) and the now very small bit plugs in at the bottom of the edge.
Bit of a learning curve but great GPS

You need to put the Micro SD card in the slot on the Edge 800, then go in to System (spanner), Map, then Enable the OS map. I use OSM (free) maps so need to also disable the base maps , not sure if you will need to do this also but would guess that you will.

You are quite right, there is insufficient internal memory on the Edge 800 to copy the maps on so you need to leave the Micro SD card in place.

Once you've done all the above, I found on mind that the 'default' nav screen was still the sat nav style one. However, tapping the compass icon on that screen then zooming out forces it to load the OS mapping. It takes several seconds to load each OS map screen the first time.
