Garmin Edge 520

I love new gadgets and like the look if the new Garmin 520. I think it will be available at the end go the month.

I have got a 500 so am struggling to justify the upgrade.

Is it worth upgrading?

There are too many gadgets - ride your bike, enjoy it. Or do what you want re gadgets, they'll not make you any better.

This is the madness of the world we live in.

A friend of mine has just changed a almost new, and expensive car, for a brand new one in exactly the same colour/spec' simply because the gearbox has now got one more gear (I think it has gone from 8sp auto to 9sp auto).

Apparently there is a huge benefit and his life will be magically transformed out of all recognition.

Marketing - clever! Can make people *iss their pants/knick's with excitement by making a new phone that is 1mm slimmer than the previous model.

Yep.....got to agree. Unless something does something an awful lot better than the previous model, I can't see the attraction of continually upgrading things.

Yes - if it wasnt you wouldnt be looking at it and asking questions

You want it, you know you want it, so go get it and enjoy the new toy

You have to actually (in garmin connect) select that you want to use strava segments, pair your account and then download them via express.

They don't magically appear on the screen

It is with daft comments, yes. How can you be put off by an additional feature it has. Suggests that you can't turn it off if you find that you don't like it. In fact you have to actuvy set it up.

I got as far as the express part (after updating my 1000) then realised it's a bit stupid.
