Garmin edge 500 query

I'm thinking of getting one of these, is it possible to pace yourself against a previous ride on the same course, ie. how many seconds behind/ahead you are of last time you rode it? Thanks

Yes. It's called virtual partner.
Scrap that don't think the 500 has it.

The Edge 200 has virtual partner though.
Though the 200 doesnt have HRM and Cadence.

Okey dokey..I have both the 200 and 500 and never used the feature on either.

Read the dc rainmaker review and he said it doesn't have virtual partner but I'm not sure how current his review was as I'm aware that they can add features via updates, really fancied this feature as an incentive to beat your best times on favourite courses.

IIRC as long as you have either created a course or re-riding the 'same' ride you can select 'do course' which you will then see the virtual partner during the ride.

Yep, it's there. I was using it last year to better my times to and from work.
